Wong 2020

A note from Lisa
Hello NSP!
My name is Lisa Wong and I am running to be your North St. Paul City Council representative. I live in North St. Paul near Casey Lake Park with my husband Bill in an old farmhouse built in 1916. I believe NSP has been making improvements in our community. However, I want to ensure that our community thrives in all aspects we deserve as residents through meaningful community engagement, equitable access to community resources, sustainability, and advocating for an environment that nurtures healthy families.
After a year in St. Paul, Bill and I decided to purchase our home in North St. Paul during it's 100th year. Moving to North St. Paul was reminiscent of a growing and developing community with a small town feel, much like where I grew up. We were driven by affordability, access to major highways, parks, and the Gateway Trail. We were excited by the potential of NSP and are now proud to be a part of this community.
Living in NSP has many positive attributes. Like any other community, NSP has its own challenges - some of these challenges have been illuminated by COVID-19, social justice movements, unemployment and economic downturn, environmental pressures, and increasing housing costs. With a background in policy and public health, I am prepared to strengthen the systems that support and sustain us.
I’m committed to working with the community to build a more resilient North St. Paul. I hope I can count on your vote on November 3rd! I appreciate your consideration and look forward to connecting with you should you have any questions, concerns, or clarifications that will help you make the most informed voting decision.
Thank you!
Lisa Wong
